petermeinke.jpg - 29872 Bytes A St. Petersburg, Florida poet/author, PETER MEINKE has published 14 books of poetry. His book of short stories, The Piano Tuner, won the Flannery O'Connor award for short fiction. His books include Scars, Zinc Fingers and Liquid Paper. paulannpeterson.jpg - 30503 Bytes PAULANN PETERSEN, a Portland, Oregon poet, is the recipient of a Wallace Stegner Fellowship as well as two Carolyn Kizer Poetry Awards. Her books include Blood Silk, The Wild Awake, and Fabrication as well as many others.


The Verandas, an historic bed and breakfast located near the courthouse square in downtown Burnet, provides a beautiful setting for a full day of poetry events. There will be readings from our featured poets, Paulann Petersen and Peter Meinke, as well as a reading by the Texas Poetry Calendar 2007. Winners of the Inks Lake Ink poetry competition will read their award winning entries. Ample time will be provided for open mike readings and informal workshops. The Verandas is a perfect place for this event and readings will be held outdoors, weather permitting. verandas2.jpg - 136274 Bytes


INKS LAKE INK POETRY CONTEST

Prizes of $100/$50/$25 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Poems must be 32 lines or less.
Up to 3 poems submitted per person.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS AUGUST 15TH
A $5 reading fee made payable to BCAF must accompany each submission.
