FRIDAY, OCT. 12
The weekend begins with the Genealogy Conference (registration fee required) starting Friday morning, and will continue with special performances by several noted storytellers at local schools and the Burnet Boys and Girls Club that afternoon.
FRIDAY EVENING, OCT. 12
OPENING NIGHT "MIX & MINGLE"
Join us for the evening to mix & mingle with our featured authors, storytellers and poets in the unique ambiance of Longhorn Cavern. Keynote speaker Joaquin Jackson (One Ranger: A Memoir, UT Press) will be introduced by Mike Cox (author and Texana book reviewer for the Austin American-Statesman). The evening includes entertainment, food, drinks and a great opportunity to socialize in a venue rich in local history and atmosphere.
SATURDAY, OCT. 13
9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Storytellers will ply their trade and authors will give readings and lead discussions at several sites around the Burnet downtown square. Poets will convene and converse at the Verandas Guest House. Festival performers will be available for sales and signings throughout the event. Historic Fort Croghan will be open for the annual Fort Croghan Day celebration of Burnet history. These activities are open to the public at no charge - donations will be accepted.

Hank the Cowdog in Concert

JOHN ERICKSON, a former cowboy, has written numerous books for both children and adults and is best known for the Hank the Cowdog series. USA Today calls the hilarious series "....the best family entertainment in years." The 50th installment in the beloved Hank the Cowdog series will be released this summer. According to Billboard Magazine, every Hank the Cowdog title has been recorded, making it the longest running successful children's series on audio ever!
SATURDAY EVENING, OCT. 13
GRAND FINALE
Join us at Burnet's downtown Community Center and "cut a rug" as the Flashbacks play Big Band Swing music from the 40's. Take this opportunity to visit one last time with our festival performers. Beverages and light hors d'oeuvre are included.
